It Was The Day Of My Graduation And My Car Battery Was Dead

It was the day of my graduation and my car battery was dead. Imagine the stress I felt when my car wouldn’t crank! Here I had spent 4 years working two jobs, while taking college classes at night, and the day that all this hard work was to pay off —- I turn my key in the ignition, and I get click, click, click, a buzz echoed from the starter solenoid, and then nothing! I had my cap and gown on and a dead car battery. My parents had left earlier to pick up my Grandparents, and yet here the graduate was left without a way to get to his own graduation.

Blessed is the man who prepares!

Lucky for me, my father grew up in the days where all little boys were members of the Boy Scouts of America. He held true to their motto of “always be prepared”. In our house, were all kinds of first aid kits, flashlights, and emergency auto repair items such as a car battery charger. It was his car battery charger that gave my car the juice to transport me to my graduation! Car battery chargers can be a lifesaver, and on that night it was for me!

Jeremiah and his wife were asking me what toddler bed they should get for their daughter. They said that they were not sure what kind to get, since the selection of toddler beds nowadays was larger than ever before. I mean, when we were coming up, all you had were some simple options. Now, you can get toddler beds of all different shapes, sizes, colors, and themes. To help them decide, I started asking them questions.

First, I asked them what color their daughter liked. They told me she liked the color red. Then, I asked if she had any favorite cartoon characters. They told me she liked Blue’s Clues the best. Told them about some red colored Blue’s Clues beds I saw online and I gave them the website where they could go to get these beds. They thanked me profusely, and they set off on getting their daughter a toddler bed she would love.

Don’t quit

Trust me,to learn to play guitar  every guitarists has experienced that. Whenever you feel like quitting, remember these:

1.         You’ve gone a long way

Remember all the time, efforts and money you have invested in learning to play the guitar. Put in mind that you’ve gone a long way and you wouldn’t want to waste all your invested efforts.

2.         You are getting better

Make sure that you see those progresses that you consider insignificant. Bear in mind that a progress, no matter how significant or not, is still a progress.

3.         If they can do it, so do you

You can’t just quit when everybody isn’t doing it. Just believe in yourself the way others does.

4.         Remember your goal

Focus on your goal. Sooner or later, you’ll achieve it.

Going to the Chess Shop

I am going to our local chess shop that sells all things chess to major chess enthusiasts. I absolutely love going to that place because so many neat things can be found there. You can find chess sets of all kinds. There are chess sets that have some of the most neatly carved red oak chess pieces that are made by one of the guys in town. He sells his sets to the shop, and the shop owner sells them at his price to us enthusiasts. You can also find sets that have tin or brass pieces. You can even find antiques there. It would not be too far from the truth for me to say that this shop is a chess lover’s paradise.

When I go to that shop, I always end up spending a whole lot of money. If I am not careful, I can spend an entire paycheck. That is why i make myself be care and budget wisely. I set aside what I can spend, and it keeps me in check.

The Evolution of Night Vision Technology.

Night vision technology has the full over the past few decades since its initial creation during World War II. During this time, the Army was in desperate need of this technology. Soldiers were being killed in the darkness and he needed a way to combat against this. Not only would atn night vision allow for a good defense, but would allow for a better offense. Now, soldiers would be able to engage in stealthy missions during the evening and complete missions in lower visibility. This way, the enemy would not be able to see them coming, and wouldn’t be able to find them after the mission was complete. We think about it today, this is very similar to how the special ops teams work in the military. It’s all about getting in and out very quickly and night vision technology allows them to do this. As you can see, it has evolved over the past few years to better suit the needs of the Armed Forces.

Becoming A Master At Chess

Although it may seem a little bit difficult at first, becoming a master at chess is not that difficult.  It will, however, take a lot of practice and determination in order to become one.  Just like anything in life, the more you work at it, the better you will become a day.  They say that practice makes perfect is completely true, and you just have to put it into practice in order to be successful.  They also say that the number one factor influencing success is just showing up.  So what I’m saying is that you go out, buy a chess set, and start practicing, you can become a chess master faster than you ever thought possible.  I highly recommend finding a mentor, or former chess master to teach you how to play chess.  Is nothing like learning from a real expert, and nothing else will substitute in its place.

Rhea’s Dreadful Discovery

Rhea came over to me crying. She was crying so bad that it was hard to understand her. I told her to sit down and try to collect herself. I also brought her a glass of water. When she got herself together enough where she could talk, she explained to me what was going on.

She told me that she lost her puppy. It went out into the yard to go to the bathroom, and it got poisoned. She thinks that someone who hated her did that to her dog to get revenge. Anyway, when the dog did not come back in from going to the bathroom, she went out to see what was going on. She stumbled on her puppy, and it was dead!

She took it and got the ashes for it. They are at her house. She said that she could not go home because she was not ready to be there without her dog. I told her to stay the night over at my house, and then we would go look at nice pet urns in the morning.

Tuning a Djembe African Drum Is a Balancing Act Of Size, Shape, and Stress

Djembe drums are expected to have a unique, multi-layered tone. There are 3 different components that work together to impact on the changing of that tone as well as the pitch, the higher or lower sound, of the drum. The first factor that will influence the relative pitch of the drum is the dimension of the drum head. As in most musical instruments, and for sure the percussion instruments, lower and deeper pitch is the result of the instrument being comparatively larger than others. If the drum head is larger, you would expect the sound to be lower and deeper.

A second factor that impacts on the pitch and timbre of the djembe is the tension that is placed on the drum head. This is known as tuning the head. As the drum head is subjected to the tensioning, or tightening process, the pitch will rise. As the tension on the head is loosened, the pitch will get lower up to a point of having no pitch at all because it is too loose.

The third component of a djembe drum is the depth in the body, or bowl. As the body size and depth increases, the sound of the drum will become lower all things else being equal. The proper tone and pitch is a combination of all three factors.

Sheer Curtains Made a Big Impact on My House

I recently purchased a new home and wasn’t sure how to decorate it. It was a foreclosed home, so was pretty empty and I didn’t get to see what the previous homeowners had in it. Getting Away from a Nasty Boss

I am thinking about starting my own business because I am so sick and tired of dealing with my boss. She is so negative and nasty. She is always putting me down. It seems that nothing that i do is good enough for her. Even if I go above and beyond, she does not appreciate what I do. I’ve put up with this mistreatment for ten years. Now, I am done. I’ve had enough.

The business that I plan to get into is business consulting. I have a business degree, so I can put the knowledge that i have obtained to good use. It Will Be Fun After All

I was staying with my friends because some of our mutual friends had come in from out of town to see us. All was well, except I had a terrible yeast infection. My underwear was causing even more irritation because the contact was making matters worse.

I could not go to the drug store to get any over the counter treatment because it was close. I did not want to wait until tomorrow because I was in agony. I told my friends about my problem, and they said that I could use the natural yeast infection treatment of plain yogurt, and it could be done right away because it was in their fridge. I told them that I would do anything to get relief.

Taking their advice, I applied the yogurt. It felt cold, but I noticed that I was getting relief. Now, I felt confident that our time together was going to be fun after all.

The Kids Loved the Jumpking Trampoline

I got the Jumpking Trampoline for the kids this year, so they would have something to do. Let me tell you that when they saw it, they went crazy. They were jumping and running around the yard like nutcases. They were so excited to get the trampoline.

They thanked me hundreds of times. I do not know how many times they thanked me. It was too much to count. I was so glad to see that they appreciated the gift.

They could hardly wait for the jumpking trampoline to be set up. They begged us to hurry and hurry. We could only go so fast, but we were doing our best.

When it was finally set up, they ran for it. They jumped on it, until the sun went down. When it was time for them to come inside, they did not want to. We practically had to beg them to come in.

Hunting Season Has Arrived

The hunting season finally arrived! My friends and I were so excited, too. Each of us have a crossbow, and we were prepared to go out and get some awesome game.

All of us hoped to take home a whole lot of cool stuff. We hoped to get us some fat bucks to eat, so we could make some deer steak, deer jerky, and deer stew. We were also going to go after some rabbits for the same purpose. We love our stews. They warm us up on the days that are ice cold out.

When we get our prizes, so to speak, we all celebrate. We throw parties, where we get together to have some good food and drink. When our stuff comes back from the butcher’s shop, we invite one another over for a nice bite to eat. We get so much that we can enjoy this for quite some time.
